Helping Senior VPs Think More Strategically
The Chairman of the Board of a large corporation was concerned that his Vice Presidents had been focusing too much on operational and tactical concerns because of the state of their industry. He recognized the need for them to become more adept at strategic thinking, and challenged OHMC to help them to do so.
In response, we devised an innovative approach to helping them, which included a one-week off-site event, teambuilding, 360° feedback and executive coaching. The one-week event included exercises in which the executives were invited to put themselves in the role of their competitors and devise strategies to erode their own market share.
When they saw the results of the exercise, they were both startled and motivated to think differently about how they needed to go forward. The impact was dramatic.
